East Village Grille Asheville NC

Sunday brunch at East Village Grille. We went here Sunday for brunch  because this restaurant usually has good dinners, so I thought of coming here for brunch . The first sign that the brunch wasn't very good is that their were only two other people in the restaurant during our meal. I ordered French toast with sausage; sounds pretty good, right , well wrong! I had to send it back because I ate one piece and it was raw and doughy, and only browned on one side .The waitress wasn't nice about it, she said, "Technically it is supposed to be like that,French toast isn't supposed to be cooked all the way through." I know I'm only 14, but I do know what good French toast is like. However the manager did give me a new order cooked better.

This meal gets 1 out of 5 stars.
This place may have the best wings in town but their brunch needs much improvement.

Papas And Beer (Tunnel Road Asheville NC)

We went out to dinner for my aunts Birthday.
My Aunt got there at 5 :30 to get a table and we waited almost two hours to find out they lost our name. The waitress was  sorry about the wait,so  she comped us for our drinks.I ordered a shrimp Mexican Cesar wrap. It was supposed to come with a wrap and a Cesar salad, but instead it came with rice and beans. I asked what the deal was with the beans and either the waitress didn't understand me or she wasn't sure about my order. The food is usually good but this time it was just OK.

            I give this meal
            2  out of 5 stars

Fried Cod And Homemade Macaroni

For dinner tonight I had fried cod and macaroni
at Tug the caterer's houses. There is not much to say about this meal besides the fact that it was the best fish and macaroni I have had. I know fried cod sounds average and I'm not one for fried fish but this fish was amazing. The fish by its self was great but when its dipped it in the tarter sauce it tastes even better. Also the  macaroni was perfectly cooked and went well with the fish.

Over all this meal got a perfect score.

Lunch at Venacruz kitchin & Cantina Asheville NC

Venacruz kitchen & Cantina is a very good Mexican restaurant. The food was great and the best part is that they have a menu to order off of and they also have a buffet with all sorts of good food. The place looked really nice with there decorations. If I could change  one thing about this place I would put some shells hard or soft so people could make there own tacos because they have all sorts of meat laying out and no shells.I really liked the guacamole it was delicious but a little brown.Today we had a super waitress named Jane she told us about all the food on the buffet and was very nice about it.
                    Congratulations
                    4.5 out of 5 stars
I recommend that you eat here.
I grantee you will get something your like.
It is also affordable, about 6 dollars a person for the buffet.

Got tangerines?

I had a lot of left over tangerines from the holidays so I thought I would whip up a tangerine salsa to go with some burritos and chips.

The salsa was fantastic and very simple to make, for it you need...
  1. 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice
  2. 4 tangerines  peeled , diced , and have the membranes cut off (don't forget to cut the seeds out)
  3. 1/2 red onion  (chopped)
  4. 1 stalk of spring onions  (finely chopped)
  5. 1/4 cup of cut cilantro
  6. 1 cut  jalapeno no seeds (and more or less to your liking)
Add all ingredients together but save the spring onions and cilantro to put in last. After every thing is added let the salsa chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour. Makes 1 to 2 cups.

                                                     4 out of  5 stars
                                            Beware of too much jalapeno!

New Teapot

Today I got a new teapot at Peir 1 imports.
The pot does a great job of keeping tea hot.

1/16/2011 lunch @ Frank's Pizza ,Asheville NC

Today I had a slice of pizza from Franks Pizza in Asheville. The slice had sausage, onions and mushrooms on it. The crust was excellent and the pizza was great as well.
Franks is a nice place to eat. The atmosphere was nice and it wasn't to loud.
It is also very family oriented . My only complaint is they give you Styrofoam cups to drink out of and it would be much better to use somethingelse.

I have always liked Franks and I have ate there for almost every Birthday I have had.

I give it 4 out of  5 stars.

1/15/2011 Blueberrycream@Bob Evans

Bob Evans is like a Cracklebarrel but without the stuff that  Cracklebarrel sells.I ordered the Blueberry Cream .Its  two blueberry pancakes stuffed with a cream cheese toped with blueberrys.
I would give it 2 stars out of five because the blueberrys had a funny texture and its more like a dessert than a breakfast.I only ate a forth of the pancake, it was way too sweet, I was very dissapointed. I came across this place as I was on my way to a jazz band try out at Newton Conover High School.

I advise you to never order the Blueberry Cream unless you have a mouthfull of sweet tooths.

Although I wasn't crazy about what I ate, the best part was the watress, she was very friendly. She gave our check away by mistake and so she gave us the other one which was less expencive.
